Adeline was 34 years old and she was 4 months pregnant with her partner with whom she had been in a relationship for almost three years. A liberal nurse, she lived near Limoges.
She filed a complaint for physical violence on November 8, 2018. Adeline was then 6 weeks pregnant. She suffered a miscarriage a few days later. She will withdraw her complaint on March 6, 2019, but her companion will still be sentenced on July 8, 2019, to a one-month suspended sentence, the prosecution having continued.
In May, she leaves to rest in Royan, and she realizes that he knows exactly where she is at every stage of her journey. In the evening, he will call her to the hotel room. And will send him lots of insulting text messages. She told her parents that she was convinced that he had put a tracker on her phone.
Around June 15, Adeline, pregnant again, called one of her friends to whom she confided that she was locked up at home and described her distress: he was a violent man who regularly drank alcohol. The parents will later discover photos of Adeline with bruises on their daughter’s tablet.
Adeline sent her partner an email on June 17, 2019, 2 months before committing suicide “You know the end, I never wanted it to end like this, for you to experience this, for you to endure. I could no longer stand the screaming, the crying, the beatings, and then seeing the bruises and pain following our arguments. We had to put an end to this spiral” (…) “Many situations reminded me that nothing will happen, and that my uterus is empty, like my heart, and my soul”.
The criminal conviction falls on July 8, 2019. He makes him pay his lawyer fees.
Shortly after, she leaves him, she wants to experience this new pregnancy normally, without running the risk of another miscarriage.
The weekend of August 15, he arrived at her house with his daughter. Adeline does not dare refuse to receive them.
On August 20, she called her brother and her father and asked them to come and repair the serious damage in the house, broken telephone, damaged doors.
On Saturday August 24, around noon, Adeline called her parents and her sister Ludivine, and told them that he spent the night harassing her with text messages. She tells them that she is at the end of her rope. Adeline’s sister, Ludivine, invites her to come to her house, especially as they are celebrating her daughter’s 2nd birthday. Adeline tells him that she prefers to rest.
This is the last time his family will speak to him. At 2:30 p.m., she ended her life with medication. On Monday, August 26, Adeline’s work colleague called her father, worried because she had not come to work and that never happened. The father enters the house with the colleague and discovers her body in her bed, appearing to be sleeping. The investigation is ongoing…
